4mm Coroplast (GOOD) – This was the go to standard for Cheer Signs for more than 30 years as a follow on to the hand drawn signs on poster board we did back in the 70’s and 80’s.  This is the same material that is used for most yard signs and can be printed and cut into any size and shape up to 48″x96″.  This is a great product for signage but lacks the durability of some of the other materials listed below.  This is a great material for younger groups or when you need inexpensive signs for short term use.

3mm PVC (GOOD) – This isa very thin, very flexible material that also produces vibrant signage but is super flexible and lacks the rigidity of most other materials.  This is also a great sign for younger groups and can be printed and cut in any size and shape up to 48″x96″.

6mm Coroplast (BETTER) – A significant increase is durability over the 4mm Coro, the 6mm offers an upgrade for signs.  When we make signs our or coroplast, we always print them so the flutes run the long way with the sign for added strength.

10mm Coroplast (EVEN BETTER) – 10mm coroplast offers a significant upgrade in the strength department.  Although this sign can be broken under normal cheer use, it is rare.  10mm is the go to for most of the cheer world fir durable longterm signage, at least for those that have not heard of Bubble X.  10mm comes with a couple of disadvantages, 1.  It is heavy, 2. The edges can be sharp.  To mitigate the sharpness, we round the corners of all of our signage.

4mm Bubble X (BEST) – 4mm Bubble X is the latest and greatest cheer sign material on the market.  If you have not seen the video demonstration of the durability CLICK HERE to see it on Instagram.  Bubble X is made with circular flutes and is flexible enough to withstand the pounding that cheer signs take without creasing yet it is rigid enough to be able to be used for even the largest signs.  If your team is creasing the Bubble X signs, they are not doing it cheering, it have to want to crease it.
