Our Story – About the Booster Banner Store
It all started when I was unsuspectedly asked to become the Booster Club President of our high school football team. I was not sure what to do or how to do it so I did what I always do, I dove in head first. We tried everything to raise money and support, some things worked, some things didn’t. I didn’t want to run the same old booster club, I wanted to do something spectacular!
I chose to hang spirit flags from the light poles in town. We hung 100 pre-made generic pirate flags (our mascot is a pirate) the first year and the response was so terrific that I began a search for custom made flags for the following year. The best I could do was $77 each and that was a little steep for our booster club budget.
Then I found it! The company that could make me a custom made spirit flag that we could afford. At the new price, pirate supporters can afford to buy several to fly on homes and businesses, and even cars. We bought 1500 that year and sold them all, making a handsome profit for the booster club in addition to providing visual support for our team.
So, I decided to share this wonderful booster product with the rest of the world. Our flags are 100% Polyester with sewn on tape edging and grommet eyes for attachment points. The printing is a sublimation process that allows the image to be seen from both sides, though it is a mirror image on the backside. The colors are vibrant and the printing is crisp and clear. These flags can be hung from a standard flag pole but most of ours are flown on makeshift poles crafted from 1/2 inch metal conduit in 10 foot or 5 foot lengths.
We attach the flags using zip ties. We sell about 2 flags in the package for every one that we sell on a pole. We also ring our stadium with 60 flags and take 2 dozen to every away game to put up with zip ties to the back fence of the visitor stands.
Since the introduction of our 3’x5’ Spirit Flags, we have been asked to produce numerous other items. Each time we get a request, we evaluate the products available and offer only the best options. We now also sell Field Runners, Wall Murals, Car Flags, Championship banners and Golf flags.
